• Fat extraction is undoubtedly one of the most common operations in the field of cosmetic surgery.

Liposuction is not quite technically demanding and has a very good effect if indicated correctly. However, it is not a dietary method suitable for cek weight reduction. It is a kind of "bodycontouring" or drawing of the body by reducing fat pads in problematic areas. The most common areas are the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, sometimes the knees or arms. Liposuction has a greater effect in women than in men, due to the different ratio of fat and muscle. Slim women or sportswomen are often clients, where fat deposits are created due to hereditary disposition and are maintained despite significant physical activity.

A special 3-6 mm thick cannula is used to aspirate excess fat, which is connected to a vacuum device. After impregnating the drawn parts with a special solution, the fat is sucked out of the small sections in a fan-shaped motion. If done correctly, the subcutaneous fat layer will thin evenly over the area. The effect in aspirated areas is permanent, because in adulthood the number of fat cells is already constant, destroyed and aspirated cells are no longer renewed and new ones are not formed.

Before the operation, consultation is again important. It is essential that the patient's ideas match the surgeon's options. There are several types of liposuction that differ in the way they break down fat cells . However, the area is always first filled with a solution that fills the space intended to disrupt the fat cells. We then aspirate them with metal cannulas of various types. Smaller areas can be operated on under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis, for larger areas it is appropriate to operate under general anesthesia with 1-2 days of hospitalization. After each liposuction, it is recommended to wear elastic underwear for 6 weeks, which helps absorb postoperative swelling and bruising.

Complications during healing are very rare, after radical liposuctions and with reduced skin elasticity, unevenness in the subcutaneous tissue may persist.
